A rustic style, character home with an excellent tourist rental history, in a charming and friendly hamlet near Comares, with two excellent bar/restaurants

Located in the very friendly and picturesque hamlet of Los Ventorros, just a few minutes’ drive to the mountain-top village of Comares, we are delighted to be able to offer this well-known, popular and successful holiday home with a very good rental history – a unique opportunity to take over both for family enjoyment and for the rental potential.

The house
The property has parking outside the house, where a huge, original wooden door leads into a covered porch, and from here through double wooden doors into the hallway.  The first thing that strikes one upon stepping into this amazing home is the line of sight, right the way through the house from the front door, to the rear doors leading outside to the garden.  The house has charming, traditional and original chequered floor tiling, so typical of the original houses in this part of Spain.

The front hallway leads to the living room/dining room, but before reaching this area, doors on either side of the hallway, to left and right, lead into charming bedrooms, both with ensuite bathrooms – to the left, a bedroom of 5 x 4m including wardrobes plus ensuite, to the right 3.5 x 5m including wardrobe plus ensuite.

The open plan living space has a lounge area to the left, with a woodburner fireplace for cosy Winter evenings, and a dining area to the right.  Everywhere are original, and fascinating features, with beams, alcoves in the walls, double wooden doors and original flooring,  This lovely space is around 9 x 3m.

Beyond, to the left and through a thick archway in the wall, is access to the rustic, farmhouse style kitchen, fully fitted and absolutely charming, with a hatch through to the living room area (4 x 3m with window over the gardens and view), blue painted beams that match the blue painted wooden windows, and a useful under-stairs store area with double wooden cupboard doors.  A rear hallway separates the kitchen from the rear downstairs bedroom, currently furnished with two single beds and window overlooking the rear top terrace, beams and the same, beautiful, perfectly kept original flooring.

From the rear hallway is a back door leading out on the top terrace and stairs to the left..

The stairs lead up from the rear hallway to the upper floor and a corridor landing.  Immediately to the left at the top of the stairs is the first of the three upstairs bedrooms, with two windows overlooking the views and a four poster bed/canopy bed, built-in wardrobes and beams, plus an ensuite bathroom (bedroom 5 x 3.2 including wardrobes, ensuite 2 x 2m).

On the opposite side of the landing, a short passage with curtained store area leads to the second upstairs bedroom, set up currently for children, with beams and wooden window in blue, a beautiful room (3.2 x 2.5m).  At the end of the landing, the space opens up into a ‘T’, with a third bedroom to the far left (4 x 3m with wardrobe) and a window over the front terrace – an absolutely charming room with sloping ceiling with beams.  To the right on the other side of the landing is a family bathroom (2.5 x 1.8m) with a bath and overhead shower and window over the front terrace.

Double doors from the middle of the landing open out onto the front terrace, a delightful space of around 25m2, offering an additional outdoor space, sunny in the morning, and overlooking the village – the perfect space to watch village life!

The gardens
Back downstairs, the rear door leads out onto the top rear terrace with plenty of views and the ideal spot for al-fresco dining.  The terrace has a cane covering offering dappled sunshine in traditional rustic style, and curtains around the entire terrace (6 x 5m), currently furnished with a sturdy wooden table and chairs and plenty of potted plants.  Steps lead down from here to the gardens.

The gardens consist of a beautiful paved area, with flower beds and interesting alcoves, an ancient brick well which could be made into a feature (glass top with lighting within), and a second covered terrace area, over the top terrace, used more as a chill-out area for relaxing maybe with a an after-dinner drink, or a good book.  A door in the wall here leads into a room used as a table tennis room, which is always wonderfully cool (around 5 x 3.5m).  From here is another door leading into a very useful store room and tool shed, with further storage space beyond, to the side of the property.

As the paved path meanders down the garden past flowering plants and smaller terrace areas, we reach the pool terrace within its own walled courtyard (pool 4 x 3m with steps into the water).  This, like all the garden, is a magical place, especially at night, with beautiful lighting, and a wonderful addition to this stunning property.  The courtyard walls include a moorish-style arched alcove and features.

At the very bottom of the garden double doors lead out to a small extra piece of land with a flowering bank.

This very special property has everything one could want from an original building, with so many beautiful features, offering the ideal holiday home with a chance to make some income too.  It might also easily be adapted to become a small b&b.
