A simply magnificent, spacious, elegant country house, totally alone, set in glorious open countryside with views across meadows, wheat fields and dramatic mountains in all directions.

This is a very special place!!   The silence is as endless as the views and the serenity is deep and peaceful…

Cortijo Maza was originally built in 1930 and renovated at a later date, converted into a magnificent, stylish and immaculate home on two floors offering space and comfort, and of course, total and utter privacy!

A track of around 3.5Kms from La Joya village, a journey of around 12 minutes, or a short track and a concrete road, also around 10 minutes, from the larger village of Valle de Abdalajis, leads to this very special location.  A gated entrance leads up a private driveway to a spacious car gravel car park.  From here we meet the rear facade of the house which is equally inspiring as the magnificent front facade, with its arched, roofed terrace.

Ground Floor
A huge front door leads into the hallway (around 7 x 3.5m including a wide, open staircase).  To the right, a wide archway leads into the magnificent living room.  This spacious room (9 x 7.5m) is most noticeable for its huge fire place, and large glass patio doors leading onto the covered, arched terrace facing the pool terrace.  At the far end a door leads into a beautiful kitchen/dining room (8 x 4m), fitted with a modern, attractive, quality tiling and units, with further doors leading out  to the covered terrace.  To the far end of the kitchen/dining room is a door to a convenient and useful utility room (4 x 2.5m) with a door to the outside, ideal for washing muddy boots and dogs, and storing kitchen items.

Back in the hallway, at the far end, past the staircase, is the downstairs bedroom, which consists of a gorgeous space with patio doors leading out to the terrace, (5 x 3.5m) plus an additional space in an L shape, currently housing extra beds (2.5 x 2m).  This extra area could easily be transformed into an ensuite bathroom or a dressing area.  Next door, accessed from the hallway, is the downstairs bathroom (3.5 x 2m) with beautiful, quality tiling and bathroom units.

First Floor
Taking the stairs, we reach an open landing, overlooking the hallway below.  This area is currently fitted with bookshelves to form a small library and there is space to sit and read comfortably in this area.

A short corridor leads to the bedrooms.  The first, to the right,  around 3.5 x 3.5m, has double doors to a balcony overlooking wonderful country views.  It has an ensuite bathroom of around 2 x 3.5m.  The second bedroom is the master room, measuring around 8 x 4m, with three sets of double patio doors to a wrap-around terrace.  To the far end of this room is a dressing room fitted with wardrobes (4 x 2.5m) and beyond, the ensuite bathroom, a spacious 4 x 3m with quality fittings and tiles.

A corridor leads to two further bedrooms facing the other side of the house (3 x 2.5m and 3.5 x 3.5m), one of which has doors out to a private terrace overlooking the beautiful vies, and there are a further two exquisite bathrooms (1.5 x 2m and 2.5 x 2m).

The Grounds
The house is surrounded by an estate consisting of meadows and olive groves, with paths leading down and across the land.

The pool can barbecue terrace is a lovely, spacious area overlooking the views, and at the far end of the 62m2 pool, with steps, is a covered dining terrace for enjoying outdoor life with friends and family.  Stone steps lead down to the pool room and an additional store room below. Further down is an additional gravel parking area, and beyond, the wooden stable building.

In the Springtime the grounds are a mass of wild flowers, in multiple colours and there are many trees offering shade and attracting wildlife in all its abundance.

This gorgeous property is ideal for anyone looking for space and luxury in a totally country location, far from everywhere and everyone, and yet within 10 to 15 minutes of ‘civilisation’ and within 1 hour of the South coast/beaches of Malaga province.

At the end of the video below, keep watching for the second video, of the grounds:
