Finca Los Arcos is an established holiday complex, located on a hillside near the mountain village of Comares, with sweeping, panoramic views of the mountryside, mountains, and down to the glittering Mediterranean sea in the distance. It combines perfectly rustic style with elegance and comfort, to make a wonderful home, and a home away for its paying guests.
The property, on a plot of 3025m2, consists of three living units set in stunning gardens and terraces, around a central swimming pool.
It is connected to mains electricity, mains water and all its documentation is in perfect order, including a DAFO certificate from the town hall.
The access is via a very short concrete track (180m), which is gated for the six properties located along the track, providing extra security, leads to the parking area (electric gates with remote control). The parking consists of an area of parking for 2 cars on the left as one arrives, and a third space for one car on the right. A further parking area for the owners’ vehicle is located a little further along the track.
The Guest House – 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, living room, kitchen, terrace Next to the parking area is the guest house, with its own covered terrace, an open side terrace with magnificent views, perfect for evening cocktails, and a small garden. The front door, from the covered terrace, leads into a beautiful, fully fitted kitchen (17m2), with a small passage leading to a lovely living room with a fireplace (18.64m2). From the small passage, stairs lead to the upper floor. To the right, bedroom 1, (16m2) with an ensuite shower room with beautifully tiled walk-in shower (2.47m2). To the left of the stairs is bedroom 2 (14.56m2), also with an ensuite shower room (2.6m2) and a door out to a large open terrace of 17m2, overlooking the pool and gardens below, and the beautiful views.
The Main House – 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, living room, kitchen, store room, covered terrace Walking past the guest house to one side, we walk through a delightful area with many lovely plants splashing colour here and there as one passes, and past a useful store room of 9.5m, with a laundry area. This leads onto the spacious main patio, from where we access the main house. A large covered terrace provides a personal outdoor space for the owners, (should they choose to live here), of 18.6m2, with stone detail on the walls, beamed, sloping celing and an arched side window. Here there are glass curtains that can enlose the area completely in the winter, and there is a log burner to enjoy on cooler evenings on this lovely terrace.
From the covered terrace, the front door leads into a modern, fully fitted kitchen (16.9m2), with plenty of space for those who love to cook! To the right, three steps lead down to the main living/dining room (39m2) with patio doors at the far end leading out onto the main patio area. In this room is a modern pellet stove. The living room also has hot/cold air conditioning. Beyond the living room is a short passage leading to the left to a store area/office (14.56m2) which has the added advantage of an extra store area with a low ceiling to one side (around 8m2). To the right is the downstairs bedroom, with air conditioning, the smallest in the house but a most delightful room, beautifully decorated, with an ensuite shower room at the far end with a window over the patio (3m2). The room has interesting original features such as an ancient oil urn and a storage alcove in the thick wall in the bathroom.
From the living room, stairs lead to the upper floor and a landing area of 2.7m2. To the left is bedroom 2 (11.44m2) with ceiling fan, in the centre is the bathroom (3.28m2) and to the right is bedroom 3 (13.28m2), with ceiling fan and patio doors to a balcony overlooking the gardens, pool and views.
The Guest Apartment – 1 bedroom – 1 bathroom – living room/kitchen – terrace Walking through the gardens and around a corner, a short path leads to the guest apartment. The approach is beautiful, with many flowering plants and a delightful private terrace with lovely views. The front door leads into a large, open plan space, stylishy and elegant, consisting or a living/dining area with a woodburner, and a modern, fully fitted kitchen (25m2). Stairs lead up to an open mezannine level bedroom (16.62m2) with an ensuite shower room with walk-in shower (4.74m2).
The gardens and pool The main garden patio, with its delightful covered area and many plants and flowers, is just the beginning of the very special gardens at Finca Los Arcos. The pool sits centrally, with an unusual shape and an incorporated jacuzzi at one end, as well as a viewpoint terrace just above the pool. To the side and rear of the pool are two separate walled garden areas, meaning that guests and friends can choose individual areas to enjoy. Each has its own character, with quality sunbeds and other outdoor garden furniture. Guests enjoy the total peace, with just the sound of the birds or the bubbling of the water in the pool and these are excellent places to watch both the sunrise and the sunset.
A short path, close to the guest apartment, leads to a hillside garden, with a path and terraces cut into the land and planted with a variety of beautiful plants. There is also a vegetable garden, should the owners wish to grow their own vegetables. The finca has fruit trees, consisting of 2 lemon trees, 3 fig trees, 1 orange free, 1 plum tree, 1 loquat tree, 1 pomegranate tree, 5 almond trees,1 mandarine tree and 1 grapefruit tree. There is space to plant more. The current owners make delicious jam and preserves each year from the fruit.
Finca Los Arcos is perfect and ideal for anyone wishing to take over and up-and-running holiday business, living and working on site. It is ideal for anyone wishing to live an active life, in the sunshine and the clean mountain air – and just a short walk from two lovely bar/restaurants in a friendly mountain hamlet.
