Situated in a pretty country hamlet, within around 5 or 6 minutes’ drive of the large village of Periana, the hamlet has one bar/restaurant, plenty of open countryside to explore on foot or by bike, and some of the best views in the Axarquía area. The coast is 30 minutes’ drive South, to Torre del Mar, and 25 minutes from the large local town of Velez-Malaga, and is within one hour of Malaga and the airport.
The Property
A front terrrace of around 2.5 x 5m is the perfect place to sit and watch the local people come and go. The front door from here leads into a large living/dining room (6 x 4m) with a large open fireplace. To the rear a few steps lead up to the kitchen (4 x 3m). which is open plan with the whole of the downstairs. From here stairs lead up to a landing and into the bedroom (5 x 4m) with a door to a wonderful upstairs terrace (2.5 x 5m). From this terrace we can appreciate the wide, open and panoramic view of the countryside, Mount Maroma, Lake Viñuela, and beyond, the great sweep of the Mediterranean Sea in the distance.
To the rear, a few steps lead up to the large bathroom (1.75 x 2.5m plus 3.3 x 1.5m approx).
The house has many rustic features such as thick beams on the ceilings, thick walls and rustic tiles, with a country style kitchen. There is always a lovely breeze sweeping up from the coast, making it ideal even in the Summer for enjoying the ‘great outdoors’.
The house comes with a small ruin (32m) which used to be an animal keep and this area could house a store shed, or the ruin could be cleared to grow a few vegetables. This is located a few metres from the house.
A very unusual and delightful, rustic style house in an idyllic location.
