Description

House around 37m2 to restore – plot 1886m2 – beautiful views – steep, but near access to country lane – within 10 minutes of Comares

A simply delightful, ancient cottage, still with its original roof, on a lovely plot of natural land, with wonderful views, to be restored.

This is a mini-project for anyone looking to restore a little country house and create a secret hideaway, lost in the hills below the picturesque mountain village of Comares.

Finca Vicente is part of what used to be an ancient cortijo, much of which is now in ruins.  This little part, which were originally the drying rooms for grapes, still with the original heating equipment in place, is still in a condition that permits renovation and offers the chance to create a charming little ‘hide-away’ in the hills!

Access is off a very pretty, winding country lane (concrete and asphalt) below the village, with a very steep, but very short concrete access drive to the house.  As the access is fairly steep, it could potentially be improved by creating a parking and turning area above the house, with a few steps or a path down to the house, and even potentially adding a small bend to the drive, to reduce the incline.

The house is so sweet, almost subconsciously charming and rustic, bending into its natural surrounding perfectly, and with the backdrop of a most dramatic view to the South, down into the valley.  Most of the land with the house is to the front, with a flat garden and patio area that could be made beautiful, and then dropping down the hill to lower areas, that are useable, with ancient carrob trees and other indigenous species.

The house has a front door leading into two rooms, roughly measuring 20 to 30m2 internally, and around 37m2 in total.  It has thick, original stone walls and a traditional tiled roof.  The entire house needs total restoration.  It could consist of a living room and kitchen to the front, plus a bedroom and shower room to the rear.  Behind the house is the rest of the ruin of the original cortijo, attached, but in a tumbledown state.  However, as the house looks to the south west, and the old cortijo looks in the opposite direction, once at the property, it is not really visible or noticeable.

This delightful, original little Andalusian cottage has mains water and there is electricity on the plot that just needs to be connected.

It has been confirmed that the town hall would permit planning permission for its restoration.

This little oasis of calm and beauty is for sale for a very reasonable price, to permit most people the funds to restore it.
