Description

3 bedrooms – 2 bathrooms (main house plus casita) – pool – gardens – spectacular views

An original house (dates from 1940) with plenty of character features with excellent access, just a few minutes from Archez (1km) and Canillas de Albaida (2.5kms).

RESERVED

Casa Mari Trini, dating from 1940, has been lovingly kept by the current owners, still in very much its original style and layout.  Located just a few minutes’ drive from the villages of Archez and Canillas de Albaida, access is very easy, with no dirt track.  Although it is close to the road, as it sits above it, there is little noise from traffic and the views in all directions are spectacular.  This property is only 18Kms from the coast and the beaches of Algarrobo and Caleta de Velez.

A private parking place leads to a garden gate, leading into the fenced property.  The house sits at the top of the plot, with various terraces interconnected by easy steps, making up the rest of the plot (2400m2).

The main area around the house consists of pretty, paved terraces with many flowering plants, a large main terrace of 40m2, including a covered area, framing the views perfectly, overlooking countryside, hills and valleys, plus a look-out terrace.  To the rear of the main house is a passageway with a Moorish style arch and store area, and spectacular views over the countryside, mountains and villages.

The property is very private, although not alone, with neighbours nearby, but not overlooking.

The buildings consist of the main house, a casita/garage and a pool on a terrace below the main terrace.  The casita is actually a garage, with a garage door that can be used as such.  However, the current owners have also adapted this space to be a separate unit/bedroom with hot/cold air conditioning and a bathroom (26.3m2).  Its use could easily be interchangeable. Above the casita, an elegant, white spiral staircase leads to the roof terrace above, where one can contemplate the dramatic, wide, 360 degree views, quite spectacular!

The house has two doors; one leads into the living room at one end, and the other leads into the kitchen/bathroom area.  As this property is ideal as a holiday home, its unusual layout, still representing how life used to be lived, adds character and individuality to this lovely dwelling.

A quality glass patio door leads into the living room (5.5 x 3.5m) with a high, sloping ceiling and beams, and a delightful woodburner fireplace at the far end, and hot/cold air conditioning.  Through thick walls and on rustic floors this room offers a cool, fresh feel in the long hot summer months, and a warm, cosy space in the mild winters.  To the right, a door leads into one of two bedrooms, also with high ceilings and beams, one leading on from the other (3.5/4 x 3.5m), both with windows to the front and one with an extra, high window.  The bedroom nearest the living room is currently furnished as an extra living room area or reading room.  The end bedroom leads again through to the kitchen (4.5 x 3.5m), fully fitted and with thick walls, modern kitchen units, two windows and air conditioning.  From here there is a small hallway leading both to the bathroom (1.6 x 3m, newly refurbished) and to the outside via the second door.  Having two outside doors means that both bedrooms can be accessed from different ends of the house and it is not necessary to walk through both to access the kitchen or living room.

Outside, a few easy steps lead down to the pool terrace, with a beautiful,  oval-shaped pool and plenty of space for sunbathing and contemplating the views.  Further steps, passing under a flower arbour, lead down to a further terrace level, with pretty gardens, and at the bottom is a mini vineyard of productive ‘moscatel’ grapes.  Below, there are also productive olive trees, currently looked after and harvested by a local farmer, keeping them pristine and beautiful all year.

This delightful property, sold fully furnished, would work very well as a holiday home, to enjoy and/or let to tourism, and would also work as a permanent home, being so conveniently close to villages and roads.  A beautiful, character home in a stunning mountain area of Southern Spain.
