4 bedrooms – 2 bathrooms (potential for additional bathrooms upstairs) – garage – basement workshop –  beautiful original features – 2 terraces with views – quiet, country hamlet

A beautiful, original house in a pretty, country hamlet (with one shop), within walking distance (15 mins) of the larger village of Benamargosa, with some delightful original features and plenty of potential depending on required usage.

This lovely village house, in very good condition, would work well as both a holiday home, permanent home and even has the possibility of having a few rooms for ‘b&b’ or similar, or using the workshop room for classes, yoga, etc.

The front door leads into a beautiful hallway/dining room (14.37m2), with an original wooden and glass partition separating it from the spacious kitchen (13m2).  Double doors lead through to the living room (25.7m2), which also has a door into the kitchen.  Most noticeable is the beautiful, original, patterned tiling across this whole area, in excellent condition in the vibrant colours and style that is so typical of the larger and older Andalusian houses.  The ceilings have painted beams, giving it more original character and in the living room there is a door leading into a useful under-stairs cupboard.

Off to one side of the living room is a small ‘light’ patio, with a sliding door to the bathroom (4.17m2) with a bath and overhead shower.

Beyond the living room is an inner hallway, with a second ‘light’ patio, nicely tiled, to the far right hand side, and bedroom 1 (8.15m2) with quality polished wooden buit-in wardrobes, and next to it, along a short corridor that is actually an open patio, is the second bathroom (4.7m2) with a shower unit and a washing area.

To the left of the short corridor, a door opens onto a few steps that lead down to the garage (25m2).  This large space is useful for parking a car, but also has the possibility of being used as a bedroom.  It also has a fireplace, as the family have often use this as a friendly, social gathering space with neighbours.

A few steps from the garage lead down to a large basement/store room (7 x 4m), which has three high windows bringing in natural light.  This might be ideal as a music room, yoga room or a classroom, as well as a store room.

Back on the ground floor, in the short corridor by the washing area and bathroom, a few steps lead up to a door out to the first terrace (25m2) above the garage.  This lovely tiled space has excellent views across rooftops and the countryside and hills beyond.  It is joins, at a higher level, the main terrace, separated by railings.

Back in the front hallway, stairs to the far left lead to the upstairs level, and a landing (around 4 x 2.7m).  From here, bedroom 2 is located to the left, (4.5 x 3m) with a door at the far end out to a small balcony/terrace area and the light patio below. To the far end of the landing are original double doors leading into bedroom 3, a spacious room, (4.5 x 3m) with double doors out to a juliet style balcony overlooking the street.  This room leads on, to bedroom 4, (4 x 3.5m).  This bedroom also has double doors out to a juliet style balcony overlooking the street.  There may be a way of making access to this bedroom independently from the landing.

From the landing is also a door to a long, thin room (2.7 x 1.5m) which in turn leads out onto the upper terrace (7 x 4m) with lovely views including of the hilltop village of Comares.  It is possible that the two terraces could be joined via a few steps.

This spacious and unusual village house is packed with Spanish charm and has plenty of potential for development as a home or a small business for new owners.
