Cortijo Salazar is a comfortable house on one single level, sitting in the middle of its own mini valley within a huge estate of 158,866m2.  The land is all in its original natural estate, and nature is everywhere, including a huge variety of wildlife including birds, deer, wild boar and more!

Access to the finca is not difficult, with only a very short and very good dirt track to the entrance gates.  From here, a dirt track driveway leads through the finca to the house, and a large parking area for plenty of cars.  On the way down to the house, the driveway passes a good sized flat area where the current owner lived in a motor home whilst rebuilding the cortijo.  This spot would be ideal for anyone wishing to park a caravan or motorhome, as there is a toilet building here that could be completed as a bathroom.

It has been confirmed by the town hall that it is possible to build up to 300m2 of housing on the plot, including the current cortijo.  This can be in one building or separate buildings.  A legal campsite is also possible.

From the car park an arch leads into a walled patio (around 8 x 5m) with a built-in, rustic, brick and stone outside barbecue area.  This joins to the covered, arched terrace (around 4 x 4m), with a few steps down to the front terrace – the ideal place to spend many hours enjoying this cool outdoor space. From here, traditional double wooden doors lead into the rustic but comfortable kitchen/dining room, (5 x 3m) with a fully fitted kitchen and a corner woodburner.  From here a corridor leads firstly to the right to the living room (around 6 x 3m) with a sloping ceiling with decorative, rustic style wooden beams, a fireplace fitted with a wood burner, an arched bookcase area set into thick walls,  plus double wooden doors  leading out to a general, fully tiled open front patio terrace overlooking the land and running along the entire front and far side end of the house with wooden railing.  There is also a useful store shed here of around 3 x 1.5m.  Immediately below are areas of the land that could easily be converted into beautiful gardens.

The corridor leads to a large family bathroom (2.5 x 2.5m) with large open shower area, separate bath and rustic features, bedroom 1 (4 x 2.5m, temporarily being used as a store room), bedroom 2 (3 x 3m), and at the end of the corridor, bedroom 3 (around 4 x 4m) with its own en-suite bathroom (3 x 1.7m) with large open shower area, and double wooden doors out to a side patio area.  Beyond the wooden railing bordering the side patio, the land drops down a little and this might be an ideal place to install an above ground pool, on a lower level, making it level with the terrace level.

The land can be accessed and leads to various levels and flat areas, and can be landscaped to suit individual tastes.

Off grid property
Cortijo Salazar has a plentiful supply of pristine, fresh mountain water and it is well known to the locals that this is an area of abundant underground water.  This property has a borehole which pumps the water into a 10,000L water deposit which then supplies the house.  There is plenty of water to irrigate a vegetable plot and/or fruit trees for anyone wishing to try their hand at a little self sufficiency.  Electricity is generated from a system of solar panels and batteries, plus a back-up generator, supplying ample electricity to the house and well pump.

Cortijo Salazar is located 30 minutes’ drive from the coast and 15 minutes from the village of Olías.  It is a paradise for anyone wishing to escape from everybody and everything, lost in nature with  no disturbances and no noise, just the sounds of nature!
