2 bedrooms – 1 bathroom – original cortijo – rustic features – pool – 5425m2 plot – good access – beautiful views

An original country cortijo with high ceilings, beams and original, thick stone walls, set in glorious countryside, just 12 Kms from the coast-established holiday rental history RESERVED

This gorgeous property, set in a peaceful, bright and light valley nestled in the hills leading up from Torrox to Competa, is an idyllic location to settle in Southern Spain or to have a holiday home, well into the countryside, but only 12 Kms (15 minutes’ drive) from the coast.

The drive leads to a covered car port and store area (25m2) and parking for a second car.  Below, the plot slopes gently down the hill and is planted with mango trees under an official rental contract with a local farmer, offering an income to the owners of this property of 10% of the annual yield, from 2024.

A garden area next to the car port has trees and a garden area, and from here a path leads up to the house.  Next to the house is a long garden strip, still with the original raisin-drying beds, today planted with many flowering plants.  Above is a concrete water deposit and a concrete base of 5 x 5m, already plumbed for water and drainage, should this area require it in the future.

The house has a large covered terrace to the front, the perfect outdoor living and dining area (45m2), with sliding glass doors to the far end for protection from breezy days, and also to stop children from accessing the pool area when required.  From here, one can contemplate the magnificent views over the countryside, and the glistening waters of the pool on the terrace below.

The double doors lead from the terrace into a stunning open plan living and dining room area (54m2), with very high ceilings with beams and high windows above the lower windows.  This lovely space is cool in summer and benefits from hot and cold air conditioning, ceiling fans attached to the beams, and electric heating panels.  There is also a woodburner fireplace.  As this is a very spacious room, it would be possible to create a third bedroom here too (original doors for this room are available).

To the far left, an opening through thick walls leads into a delightful kitchen, also with high ceilings, beams and alcoves.  This lovely room has a door out to a very sunny East side terrace (30m2), catching the sun all day and hence a perfect place for a morning coffee or a glass of wine on a winter afternoon.

To the rear centre of the living area are double doors to an inner hallway, with a bedroom to the right (3.5 x 2.5m) with a window to the rear and a door to the bathroom to the left.  The bathroom (3.5 x 1.5m) has a WC, wash basin and walk-in shower.  The second (main) bedroom (3.5 x 3m) is accessed from the rear/left hand area of the living room, and has a window to the side, and high ceilings with beams. A door from here also leads into the bathroom.  There is also a useful loft/store area in the roof of 30m2.

The simplicity of the inner layout of this delightful house is matched by a simple, but beautiful lower terrace, with a kidney shaped pool and ample terrace and sunbathing area, and two covered areas (160m2), overlooking the stunning landscape.

The property benefits from mains water from a local supplier and has mains electricity.  The house lets well to tourists, and the current owners earn a reasonable income for around 8-9 weeks lettings per annum.
