2/3 bedroom house, plus a second, 1 bedroom house – garden plot of 580m2 – sea and country views – established, registered tourist business

Two pretty country houses, located next to each other in a country plot of around 580m2 in the glorious mountain countryside close to the village of Comares.  This is an opportunity to live in the prettiest countryside of the Axarquía area, with a small extra income from holiday lets in the 2/3 bed cottage, or simply extra space for friends and family.

Located close to Comares village (5 minutes’ drive), these two cottages are packed with original features and character.  They are located within a small cluster of similar country houses, with a communal parking area just a minute’s walk from the property.  There is no dirt track to reach the property.  The two houses are set on a plot of land of around 580m2 in total, in two areas – the terraces to the front of both houses, with stunning views down towards the coast, and a lower garden area, accessed via a few steps and a pathway.

Lower garden: The lower garden area at the moment is left mainly to nature and includes a number of ruined buildings, some of which could be cleared and others used as a barbecue area and a useful store shed.  The whole area could be leveled and made into a lovely lower garden, Andalusian patio, or terrace, and would make a perfect area for a pool (talk to us about pool options).  This lower garden space is, at the moment, a ‘blank page’ and so could be adapted to best suit the preferences of the future owners.

Cottage 1: The first house, accessed via a short, concrete path from the communal car parking area, has a gate leading onto the front terrace, a large area, ideal for outdoor dining and general living.  The front door leads into a living/dining room (4 x 3.5m) with beams and wooden shuttered windows and a corner woodburner fireplace.  To the left, a wide arch leads into the kitchen (3.5 x 3m) with a window, set into the thick stone walls, looking out to the front terrace.  At the far right hand end of the living room is a door to the bathroom (4 x 1.5m) and next to it, 2 steps lead up to the bedroom (3 x 3.2m) with a high window to the side rear and ‘skylight’ window in the sloping ceiling to bring in extra light.

Cottage 2: From the front terrace of the house, a side gate leads onto the very large private terrace of the guest cottage, with a small above ground pool and plenty of space for outside living.  A large covered terrace with arches acts as welcome shade, and from here, the front door leads into the living room/dining room (4.5 x 3m) with original beams and a fireplace.  To the right, an opening in the thick walls leads into the kitchen (3.2 x 1.5m).  On the other side, an arch leads into a small hallway, with a door to the bathroom (2 x 1.5m) and the staircase.  To the rear of the living room, three steps lead up to the main bedroom (3 x 3m), which in itself leads through to bedroom 2 (3 x 2.5m).

The stairs lead up to a huge living room/bedroom 3 (8 x 3.2m) and there is scope here to add an upstairs bathroom if required.  Here also is a fireplace, and double doors leading out to a large viewing terrace (8 x 3m) with wonderful views across the countryside and down to the coast.

Below both houses, down some steps and along a path is access to the undeveloped plot and the ruins.

This unusual property is ideal for anyone wishing to either work from home or retire and earn some extra money from letting one of the cottages. It is also ideal for a couple who are looking for a small, character house, but with extra, separate accommodation for family and friends.  Ideal also for those adventurous souls who want to have a project, such as the interesting area below the houses.
