AX1031 – Top restaurant in Frigiliana village

Beautiful, well established and highly successful business – popular dining street patio – formal, spacious indoor dining room – smaller tea room – upper dining terrace with panoramic views – chillout terrace

A rare opportunity to purchase and take over a successful restaurant at the top of the beautiful village of Frigiliana with outstanding panoramic views and bright business opportunity in one of the most popular tourist hot-spots of the Costa del Sol.

Location
Frigiliana lies in the lower foothills of the Sierra de Almijara, just 5 minutes inland from the coast at Nerja.  The village has one many prizes as the best kept Andalusian village and its 3000 strong population explodes with tourists in the Summer.  The Mirador restaurant is located at the top of Frigiliana village, a must-see stop on every tourist’s exploration of this beautiful village and the best spot for panoramic photographs.   To reach the top, you need to climb the steps, but it is well worth the climb!

The restaurant
The business consists of a building on two floors plus a roof terrace.

On street level, the restaurant has the right to hire the street side cafe terrace, (seats up to 65) along with a small stone-clad outdoor bar.

Stepping into the building from street level, through traditional wooden double doors, we come into a small dining salon, or café/tea lounge, depending on what the owners wish to do with this area.  It is decorated in traditional style with the typical character that one sees in many of the buildings in the village.  To the rear of this room is a store area.  To the far right is a door into the restaurant kitchen, which is fully equipped with everything that is needed to run a busy restaurant, including industrial oven, hobs, dishwasher, refrigerators and freezer.  At the far end is a dumb waiter, used to transport food to the inside dining room on the first floor.  There is also a staircase from the rear of the kitchen leading up to the dining room.

From the ground floor salon, stairs lead up to the main dining room, a vast room with a capicity for up to 48 diners, and with six magnificent double doors overlooking six balconies, all with fabulous views over the village and out to the sea.  To the far end, a huge glass picture window reveals the pure mountain rock behind, quite a feature, and also to be seen in the ladies’ toilets, (restrooms for men and women on this floor too).

Stairs lead up from the dining room to the top terrace, a vast open space with a true ‘wow’-factor, as any visitor or diner is immediately transfixed by the spectacular views.  The sunsets in particular are quite remarkable from this wonderful balcony over the village.  This delightful and unique terrace at the very top of the village, can serve up to 48 diners.  There is also a bar on this terrace, making it easier to serve drinks directly to the upper terrace diners.  To the side of the terrace is a shower and changing area for the waiters, as it can be hot work working on this terrace at certain times of year!

A side passage by the stairs leads to a lovely hidden area, which is used by the owner as a small ‘chillout’ area.  This is the perfect place for diners to wait until their table is ready, being handed a pre-meal drink in a shady, calm, restful area with plenty of interesting rocks (lit at night by carefully located spotlights to magical effect).  Here, there is a long, brightly tiled ‘gaudi’-style built-in bench and plenty of vegetation, including fig and chirimoya fruit trees.  This area could be developed further as a small chill-out area, or after-dinner cocktail area.

This business has all permits and paperwork in order.  The owners would be willing to work with any new proprietor for a smooth transition of the business.
