AX1024 – Casa del Pescadero, village house, Comares

117m2 – Currently 5 bedrooms – 1 bathroom – 2 living rooms – two terraces

A fascinating, historic village house that used to be the fish seller’s shop and home, in a central location with beautiful views and a large roof terrace.

Situated close to the main village square, this interesting old house is in very good condition and still with many of its original features and layout.  This house does not comply to modern layouts, and indeed, therein lies its originality!  Built on three floors, typically, it currently has plenty of bedrooms – five in all!  But some simple changes and maybe the odd change to partition walls would permit  2 or 3 decent sized bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.

The ground floor begins with a front terrace of 3 x 3m, the perfect place to say hi to your neighbours and fellow villagers, as they go about their daily business.  From here, the front door leads into a hallway ((3 x 3m).  Immediately ahead is a lovely old wooden folding door, leading to a space that was once the only public telephone box in the village!  Today it is used as a useful store cupboard.  To the right is the original fish shop, still tiled in white tiles (3 x 3m).  To the right, a door leads into the living room (3 x 2m) and removing the wall between the hall and the living room would open up this space.  Next to the living room is an additional living room (3 x 2m) with a door leading back out to the front terrace – a particularly cosy, homely room.

From the first living room, a couple of steps up leads to the kitchen (around 2 x 1.5m) and from here a door to the left leads to a covered patio (3 x 2m) and access to the bathroom (2 x 2m).

Steps lead up to the right of the kitchen to the first floor and straight into a bedroom, that could be a landing (3 x 2m).  This leads to three further bedrooms (3 x 2m, 3 x 2m and 3 x 3m) and this floor could be redistributed to make maybe 2 bedrooms and a bathroom.  The floor tiles are original. One of the rooms has a balcony overlooking the terrace below and the views.

Steps lead up again to a space of 3 x 2m) which leads out onto the upper terrace (6 x 3m) with beautiful views over the village and spectacular countryside.  A glimpse of the sea, to the far right hand side, adds that extra touch of magic to this rather delightful property!  A useful store room to one side of the terrace (3 x 2m) could become a covered kitchen/dining area, servicing the outdoor space.

A very interesting, ‘quirky’ property at a very reasonable price.
