2 bedroom house with potential to easily convert to 3 or 4 bedrooms – 5922m2 plot

Old style house requiring some renovation in a beautiful plot with olives and almonds, and no dirt track, with lovely views.  Only a short walk to a friendly and charming country bar and restaurant.

Situated close to the hamlet of El Romo, with no dirt track to reach it, and only 10 minutes to Riogordo and 15 minutes to Colmenar, this lovely country house was built in 1968 and requires light renovation, to make it into a comfortable 3/4 bedroom, 2/3 bathroom house or a 2 bedroom house with a separate guest annexe.

From the quiet country lane, a private, gated driveway leads to a spacious parking area.  The house (around 100m2) is situated in the middle of this lovely plot, which is gently sloping and undulating and all useable land, planted with 20 mature aolive trees, around 20 almond trees, a number of fruit trees and indigenous carob trees.  The views are very pretty, of the lovely, natural countryside and hills that are so typical of this country area.

The house currently consists of two parts.  The main house has a spacious terrace of around 12 x 3m with a low wall and basic covering for grapevines.  The front door leads into the living room (4.5 x 3m) with windows to the front.  It would be very easy to install a woodburner into this room.  To the right, at the far end of the living room, is a door to the kitchen (5 x 4m) which is fitted.  From the kitchen is a door out to the terrace outside, and a door to bedroom 2 (4 x 3).  From this room is access to the bathroom (3 x 2m) with bath and overhead shower.

To the left of the living room is a door to bedroom 1 (4 x 3m) with window to the front.

Access to the second part of the house, (which was the animal housing and hay loft), is from the side of the building with a door leading into one main room (around 3 x 3m) with animal troughs still in place.  To the far end are steps leading up to the upstairs room (3 x 4m), and beyond the stairs, on the ground floor is an additional room (3 x 3m).

It would be easy to incorporate this section of the house into the main house, to create one large house, or this section could be renovated as a separate annexe.

There is also a small outbuilding on the land (9 m2).

This house is ideal for anyone looking for a relatively easy, manageable project to convert an existing, old style cortijo into a comfortable, character country home, at a reaonsable price.
