Description

A spacious village house, Velez-Malaga historic centre – 4 bedrooms – 1 bathroom – separate WC – office – patio – terrace

This is a most delightful, 2 storey house in one of the nicest locations in the historic centre of Velez-Malaga town.  Located on a picturesque street just above the beautiful Beniel Palace and cultural centre, the property is just a few moments’ stroll from the many monuments of the old part of town, with easy parking within a very short walk.  It is not in the high part of the town, and there are no endless steps to climb!

The double front door leads into a spacious hallway (4.5 x 2m), with high ceilings and an elegant archway opening out into the living room beyond.  To the left of the hallway, a door leads into the downstairs bedroom, although if not required, this room could be converted into a dining room (5 x 2.25m).

The large living room is a perfect room for entertaining, with the kitchen just beyond and a door leading out onto the courtyard patio.  The living room is around 20m2 in total.  Beyond, the kitchen is also of a good size, (3.5 x 3m) with a window onto the patio, and fully fitted units on the right-hand side and space for a breakfast table on the left.  Beyond the kitchen is the family bathroom with full-sized bath, WC, bide and basin in blue, and a window onto the patio.

A door from the living room leads out onto the patio, 7 x 3m, and this is an ideal outdoor space for Summer eating and entertaining, as well as some very private sunbathing, as this area is not overlooked by any other house!  The windows and balcony doors of the house, on both floors, look out over the patio, in addition to the street at the front.

Next to the door to the patio are the stairs leading to the upper floor, with a good-sized storage cupboard, under the staircase.

The top of the stairs leads into a centrally located room that the current owner uses as a library and reading room (4.5 x 3m).  To the left, a door leads into the master bedroom which is a very generous 4.5 x 3.5m with two sets of balcony doors overlooking the street to the front.

To the right of the library, each continuing room runs from one to the next, as follows: the middle room, 4.5 x 2m, with a window out onto the patio; the end room (3.25 x 3m) with double balcony doors overlooking the patio; and the office (3 x 3m) with a further set of double balcony doors overlooking the patio.  From the office, there is a door to the separate WC.  It is possible to change the layout of these rooms, to join two together, for example, and/or make a complete upstairs bathroom.

From the office, a metal staircase leads to the sun terrace (7 x 3m).  From here it is possible to sunbathe all day, from morning until evening, and the views over the town are very pretty, with a clear view of various monuments and church spires, the hermitage on the hill, and the Arabic fortress on the highest hill of the town.

This is a chance to purchase a very spacious, traditional house in reasonable order, in this pretty and up-and-coming town, in the nicest area, for a true experience of Spanish living, and yet only 5 minutes from the coast and 30 minutes from Malaga.
