Cutar is a small hillside village in the lower mountainous region of La Axarquía, with beautiful views.  It has one shop and one bar/restaurant, plus a chemist and is a village known for its artistic community.  The nearby town of Benamargosa is larger with plenty of facilities and supermarkets, just 7 minutes drive from Cutar.  Cutar is around 25 minutes from the coast at Torre del Mar.

The Property

Located very close to the main village car park, access to the property is easy.  From the wide, sunny front terrace (around 10m2), ideal for outside dining in the less hot months, double doors lead into a hallway with original floortiles.  To the left is the living room,again with beautiful, very old original floors in surprisingly good condition – the owners point out that these lovely tiles are exactly the same as those found in the birthplace house of famous Spanish poet Federico García Lorca.  This beautiful room is 4 x 3m with thicks walls and a wooden, beamed ceiling.  To the right of the hallway is the dining room, again a spacious room (4.5 x 3m) with alcoves and beams.  An archway through the thick stone wall leads into the kitchen (4.5 x 3m) with an original fireplace with the typical Axarquia country style plaster moulding above the fireplace and an alcove in the wall with wooden lattice doors.  Opposite, a door leads out to the covered ‘mirador’ or look-out terrace, (2 x 2m) with arched open spaces overlooking beautiful views, and gates leading out to a further open terrace, (3 x 2m), ideal for morning coffee!

Beyond the kitchen is a very short corridor with a door to the right into the downstairs family bathroom (2.5 x 3m) with a bath and overhead shower.  At the end of the short corridor the stairs lead up to two bedrooms on split levels.  The first, 5 x 3m, again has plenty of original features and beamed ceiling, and an ensuite shower room (3 x 2m).  The second bedroom is 3 x 3m with a lovely view from the window overlooking the Maroma mountain and an area that has been designated as a future park area within the village.

On the other side of the house, by the hall, a second staircase leads up to bedroom 3 (6 x 3.5m) with views to the front of the house, and a spiral staircase within this room leads up to the roof terrace (5.5 x 3m) with wonderful panoramic views.

Outside, on street level is access to the useful garage of around 20m2.
