Watch the video of this beautiful cortijo:

Finca Los Arcos is situated in the mountains around the picturesque mountain-top village of Comares (around 4Kms away, with basic shops, several bar/restaurants, sports and medical facilities, school, etc) and within a short walk of the pretty hamlet of Los Ventorros (10 mins walk).  Los Ventorros has two excellent bar/restaurants, is well known as one of the most sociable little corners of the Axarquía area, with friendly street parties, regular gatherings and even live music and ‘open mike’ evenings in ‘Table Mountain’ bar.  The location is around 45 minutes’ drive from the coast (either Torre del Mar or Malaga city).

A short track leads to the house, passing a few other neighbouring country houses along the way, and leads into a drive and private car park for several cars.

Facing the car park is the guest house:

Access to the house is via the stone-clad covered and arched terrace (7 x 3m) into the fitted kitchen (3.5 x 2.75m). There is a very ‘cottagey’ feel about this house, starting with the kitchen.  From here, a few steps lead down to the living room, (4 x 4m) with wood burner fireplace, alcoves and an under-stairs store room.  The living room shares an internal wall with the main house kitchen, and there is a linking doorway which has been blocked up that could very easily be reinstated, to access both houses from inside.

The stairs lead up to two ensuite bedrooms, to the left and the right of the landing.  Bedroom 1 is 4 x 4m including the ensuite shower room, and Bedroom 2 is 4 x 3.5m plus ensuite shower room of 2 x 2m. This bedroom has double wooden doors out to a large terrace (6 x 3.5m) with beautiful views of the countryside, mountains and a glimpse of the distant Mediterranean Sea.

A walk around the side of the guest house, from the car park, leads past the store room (5.5 x 2.5m) with pergola covered area, and around to the main rear garden and pool area.

From here is access to the main house:

Access to the main house is via a 4.5 x 4m covered terrace which is used most of the year as an outside living room.  From here we walk into the fully fitted kitchen (5 x 2.5m) with a pretty wooden door with glass panels.  From here, three steps lead down into the living room (8 x 4m) with wood burner fireplace and double wooden doors out to the terrace.  This delightful room is very light and bright, with good views over the gardens and beyond.

A door through very thick original walls leads to the office to the left (3.5 x 2m) and from there, a low-ceiling store area of 3.5 x 2m; and to the right, Bedroom 1, (4 x 3m) with an ensuite shower room of 2.5 x 1.5m.

Stairs lead up to a landing of 1.5 x 1m.  Straight ahead is a shower room of 3 x 1.5m.  To the left is Bedroom 2 (3.5 x 3m) and to the right, bedroom 3 (3.5 x 2.7m) with alcove and double patio doors to a balcony overlooking the gardens and views.

Immediately outside the main house is a large patio area, ideal for outside dining and living.  The gardens are made up of various terraces and a lovely pool, in an unusual shape which includes a ‘whirlpool’ jacuzzi.  Below the pool is an excellent and spacious lock-up store room.

A walk along a little path leads to the guest apartment, with its own little outside eating terrace and seating area, and lovely sea and mountain views.  The terrace takes us into the living room/kitchen area of the apartment (7 x 4m) with a wood burner and it is beautifully presented, homely and comfortable throughout.  Steps lead to an open plan bedroom (6 x 3m including built-in wardrobe and ensuite shower room), overlooking the living and kitchen area.

This property earns its keep with holiday rentals.  It is private, peaceful and convenient for the local bar/restaurants. Viewing highly recommended.
