Description

4/5 bedrooms – 2 bathrooms – terraces – approximately 1,500m2 of useable land

A delightful, well kept original Spanish country house with lovely views and terraces in a very beautiful location on the lower slopes of the Velez-Malaga valley area.

Located in a small cluster of original country houses in a lovely area just 10/15 minutes from Velez-Malaga and 10 minutes from Canillas de Aceituno village, this house is in excellent condition, well cared-for and maintained by its current owners.

Access is along a very short communal track just 100 metres from the tarmac country road, and a gated private driveway leads to the very large car parking area/lower terrace area, which currently has a concrete surface.  From here is access to the plot, which stretches in a semi circle to the South of the  house and consisting of very fertile land, all useable, with a variety of fruit trees, including avocado, medlar, oranges and lemons, almonds and olives, and a array of beautiful flowering shrubs.  There is space for a vegetable patch and on the lower slopes is a chicken coup and run.

By the steps that lead up to the house above, is a barbeque area, and access to the lower buildings.  These consist of a utility/store room which is currently used as an art studio, but could also be converted into a separate bedroom, as it also has a small, basic kitchenette that could be improved.  Next door to this room is a laundry and a second bathroom with shower unit (3.5 x 2m).  Beyond that is another store room of 3.5 x 2m.  It would be possible to convert these buildings into separate living accommodation, maybe a little apartment or alternatively a large workshop, etc.

The steps lead up to the upper terrace (upper ground level).  This lovely tiled terrace level is divided into an open area, from where a small gate leads past the neighbours’ terrace to access the communal track/driveway again.  The covered terrace area has pretty, brick-decorated arches and beautiful views across the many hills, the mountains and the little clusters of country houses in the landscape.  From here one can view each evening magnificent sunsets, as the area faces slightly South West.  The South side of this area has glass panels in the arches, which can be opened to allow the breeze through, but closed in Winter for the glass to soak up the sun and make the terrace comfortably warm.

From the covered terrace is the front door leading into a very large living/dining room (9 x 4.25m) with woodburner and plenty of light.  To the right, a door leads into the fitted kitchen (3.75 x 3m).

An arch leads to a passage, where we find:

– Bedroom 1 (4.25 x 3m)
– Bedroom 2 (4.25 x 3m plus built-in wardrobe)
– Bathroom (3 x 2m with corner shower unit)

The passage meets a ‘T-junction’ where a pretty traditional ‘grotto’ is set into the wall, and we also find a useful store cupboard.

– Bedroom 3 (3.5 x 3m plus two built-in wardrobes)
– Bedroom 4 (4.5 x 3m)

A lovely house, ideal for anyone who doesn’t wish to be too isolated, be in the best climate,  and have excellent Spanish neighbours!
